Soulcalibur IV released

The much anticipated Soulcalibur IV has finally been released in South Africa for Xbox and Ps3.

The anticipation was caused by 2 new characters that have been included in the game namely Darth Vader and Yoda.

SoulCalibur IV will feature much of the same over-the-top, flashy weapon fighting that fans of the game will remember from previous installments.

There are also some new characters which you can play with and many more new features.

All new fighting game releases have some new feature or something, so this is where Soulcalibur IV has implemented a online fighting community where you will be able to see online leader boards, fight against your friends and modify your character.

This will definitely prolong SoulCalibur's life span.

This game is going to be like the old days where you and your buddies would go to the local cafee and play street fighter against each other, only this time the graphics would be much better and you would be playing online.

So go out and buy the game and enjoy

Coolest Xbox 360 Case mods

Some people like to trick out their cars with a fancy paint job and an expensive set of wheels. Others like to trick out their Xbox 360’s similarly with a fancy case modification complete with LED lights and more. Whatever you’re trickin’ out, most likely it will cost you a buck, or two. But in the end you’ll have some well deserved bragging rights (and maybe even an ego too) when done right!

This article will point out some of the coolest Xbox 360 case modifications we’ve come across. We’ll let the pictures do most of the talking with this one and we’d love to hear which ones are your favorites. They’ll be numbered for easy referencing.

They’re not ranked in any kind of order, just listed.

Skate the End

So I finished skate over the weekend, and what a great game it was. Now my only problem is trying to finish the Rob and Big black pro challenge. I wanted to know if any of you guys had any difficulties with this pro challenge as I am finding it almost impossible to get right.

The only way I can do a 360 flip is in switch mode but then when I grind it is Backside and not frontside and then when I get the 360 flip I do the wrong grind and vice versa.

Did who ever finish this just do it by luck or can you actually do the 360 flip to FS crooked on demand.

Another cool thing I have to mention is that when you finish the last competition you get a whole lot of gamer points and seeing as me and my bro are having a competition as to who can get the most points it helps a lot, it also put me back in the lead.

Any tips would be great.

Soul Calibur IV

From Namco's acclaimed weapon-based fighting series comes the fourth chapter in the series. Delivering new gameplay modes, characters and enhanced features with 3D modeling and animation, Soul Calibur IV aims to be a definitive fighting game experience. Developed by Project Soul, Soul Calibur IV re-introduces classic warriors from the series as well as introduces new characters that bring new conflict and intrigue. With online play, new life is being breathed into the series, and gives fighting games a new outlet.

Looking at some of these screens, I am wondering if the female characters have enough protection from the sword play involved. Taki looks like she just painted herself pink instead of dressing, and Ivy…. personally I would get sick and tired of having a constant wedgie. Soul Calibur IV will be released for the PS3 and Xbox-360 sometime in 2008.

Wii it's gone

This is something I have to tell you guys about. I sold my Wii last week, if I could have lived without the money I would have just chucked it out.

I really don't know what all the fuss was about when the console was launched at rage. People were going insane to get a chance to play on the console of the future. I have to admit I was one of those poor souls seeking some excitement, but I did not get a chance to play at rage.

So eventually I bought a Wii console and absolutely loved it for like the first 10 minutes or so, but there after never played on it again. I was disappointed, and the worst of all is that my fiance bought me the console for Xmas and I had to pretend to like it for a while.

It could have worked out better between us(me and my wii) if her graphics were not as bad.

I think their biggest mistake was to ship all those crappy games with the console which immediately chased away all med core and hard core gamers. Oh well I think even some softcore gamers got chased away.

But I guess it was still successful out selling all other next gen consoles by a mile. Just because every kid younger than 13 got one.

What I am trying to say is if you like good looking graphics and want to be able to play a game for more than a day Do not buy a Wii.

Sorry to the poor oke who bought mine.

The second saga of Skate

So last night I got onto the cover of Skateboarding magazine and was invited to the Xgames(Which was a lot easier do it now that I have mastered the flicket controls).

So far I have done the Big Air event which to my surprise was a lot harder than I imagined, so as you can guess it took me like 2o tries or something to get gold. "I have no hair left"

Even the scoring of the rounds were realistic as more technical tricks gave me a higher score even if the less technical tricks gave me higher points.

Big Air another first from Skate was amazingly fun to play and a must see for avid fans of the game.

Guitar Hero World Record

You have to see this guy play it's absolutly amazing he has some serious hand to eye coordination.

Although I have never played Guitar Hero it looks pretty difficult. This guy must have spent a couple of months in music class(aka. on moms couch in front of tv) practicing to be this good.

Skate the Game

I started playing Skate the other day, and it definitely is the best Skateboarding game I have played, ever.

I don't know about any of you but I get a sense of fulfillment when I land a great looking combo, like for instance yesterday I had to do this pro challenge where you have to manual over two boxes, which took me a couple of tries but eventually I got it.

I was in a state of euphoria just because of something as simple as landing a technical trick.

Where as in Tony Hawks it took basically no skills at all to land a 200 000 point combo, while doing tricks like a one footed blunt slide to 540 flip to manual etc. which was really cool at the time until I started playing Skate.

I think Skate just started revolutionizing the console based extreme sports market, I think this move from EA creating a realistic skating game(Which is really hard at first) was risky but it paid off outselling Tony Hawks, if I am not mistaken 3 to 1 that is magnificent for the first release of a game in a specific genre competing against competitors who have monopolized the market for so long.

FYI
I am not bad mouthing Tony Hawks as it stood it's ground for more than a decade as the best Skateboarding game, but times have changed and they will have to step it up a notch if they want to remain viable competitors in the extreme games market maybe even adopt a new intuitive way of doing tricks
